Gone Girl The movie is directed
by David Fincher and is based on American psychological thriller novel of 2012
by Gillian Flynn. The novel itself got its place in the list of bestsellers in
no time and so the movie is also worth watching. The film features Ben Affleck
as Nick Dunne and Rosamundd Pike as The amazing Amy and Nick’s missing wife
along with other co-stars.
The movie starts with Nick
Dunne who went out to his sister, Margo’s bar to talk to her and after coming
back to home he founds that his wife (Very popular and successful The Amazing
Amy) is missing and the house is pretty messy and that is the day of their 5th
wedding anniversary. Nick and Amy happens to be the best couple of their circle
because of their unconditional love and affection for each other. However, Nick
calls the authorities about his missing wife and the whole situation but the
senior lady officer of the case finds something off about the behavior of Nick
himself and the start of the very long investigation begins. As the case
proceeds, all the evidences show that Amy is dead and Nick is the prime suspect
of the murder of his wife but they can’t arrest him because they couldn’t make
to find the dead body.
Flashback reveals that Nick and
Amy’s marriage was not perfect as it seems to be. The couple lost their jobs
and moved to Nick’s homeland New York, where he become lazy, uninterested and
Unfaithful to his wife, which turns her into deep depression and she started to
fight all day long. Detective officer of the case Rhonda Boney finds a medical
report which indicates that Amy was pregnant and Nick has no idea about this.
Though the clues left by Amy for her husband revealed that after finding the
truth about Nick’s affair with his student, Amy plans her own murder to frame
Nick by writing a fake diary about her husband and by faking pregnancy. She
changes her appearances and name and everything and hid herself in another town
believing that Nick will be convicted and executed for her murder.
Nick, realizing the situation,
hire very intelligent defense attorney Tanner Bolt to prove his innocence. Nick
meets Amy’s ex-boyfriends one is Tommy, who claims that Amy framed him for her
rape, and the other is Desi who denies to share any details because he is still
in very love with her.
Amy got robbed and manages to
return to Desi because she knows he is the only one who could help her hiding,
Desi kept her in his house but he wanted her to start their relation again and
if no than he could tell the police that Amy is alive and Nick is innocent. To
her danger Amy plans to kill him and to fake the kidnapping and sexual torture
by Desi so she’d be able to return to Nick and no one would question on her
innocence. Amy tells the truth to Nick and tells him that she wanted him to
want her like before. Nick becomes very angry on her lies and the way she
planned her murder and everything but Amy reveals that she is pregnant with his
baby as she has promulgate herself artificially with his sperm. Nick wanted to
throw her out of the house and tell the police everything but feels responsible
about the baby and decides to stay with her. Later on ‘The Best Couple of the
Town’ reveals on the screen that they are going to have a baby and very much
‘happy’ together. The last lines of the movie by Nick are “When I think of my
wife, I always think of her head, I picture cracking her lovely skull,
unspooling her brains, trying to get answers, the primary questions of any
marriage, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING??”
