Khamoshiyan is a
horror thriller love triangle between Gurmeet Singh, Ali Fazal and Sapna Pabbi
directed & produced by Karan Darra, Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt. The movie is
full of erotic horror thriller with all new, or almost-new faces. And that’s the
secret to keep us watching that will these new faces grow or not in the near
future. The movie is about the mysterious wife, a demon husband and a young
handsome novelist and dark silences are packed and transported to a rambling
house somewhere is very cold Kashmir. Meera is married to Jaidev who is on bed
for some serious illness and she is running an isolated guest house with no
guest in it. Soon the young novelist, Kabir discovers the unusual truths about
the house and Meera, the more he wanted to know her more he get himself drawn
towards her.
Bollywood is so bad in horror
genre and Khamoshiyan proves it that they aren’t seriously working on the genre
and spiritual world must sue the movie for mocking the spirits who are so loyal
to their world. The movie will shake you but not with the fear but with
embarrassment for all the ghosts and spirits. All Khamoshiyan gives them is a pathetic plot
where creaky doors and spooky apparitions get more playing time than the actors
who have to look scared and shattered when they are probably laughing behind
the camera for sure. Khamoshiyan is all beyond the reality as what girl is
willing to go in an empty house with complete stranger and accepts to have
drink with him and you have no idea if she is human or evil spirited but I must
say ‘The Buri Aatma’ got the chance to keep the makeup man busy for so long but
still it won’t scare you but will shiver you but not with horror off course.
All three actors performed really well but it seems like the pathetic plot wasted
the very talented actors.
As far as the music is
concerned the lead pair romancing in the icy Kashmir valleys to melodious
numbers transports one to a world of dreams. Jeet Ganguli, Ankit Tiwari and
Naved Jafar's compositions and Arijit Singh's heartfelt renditions are the real
stars.
And
yes 'Silences have secrets' and empty theatres.
